Train Your Kids

This module walks through the Finance for Kids program. A hard-copy version of the program is available for purchase on the Products menu. Whether in electronic or hard-copy form, this module helps parents provide financial management training for their kids while in the home. This is the best way to lay a solid financial foundation for your kids.

As you train your kids in disciplined financial management, your kids will learn principles such as:
  1. Money has value – it can be used to get goods and services.
  2. Work is good – it can generate money.
  3. Debt can result in bondage – you should only spend money you have.

and values such as:
  1. Responsibility – money will be needed for more than just fun things.
  2. Self-control – properly managing money often requires controlling behavior.
  3. Planning – the use of money must be planned for use now and later.
  4. Accountability – tracking the use of money helps us consider stewardship.
  5. Patience – not having money when we want it trains us to wait for things.
  6. Appreciation – we value things that we have to work for and pay for.
  7. Giving – the money we have is not all for us.
