From the beginning, God gave moms and dads roles that deserve respect and honor. In fact, the sixth commandment given by God to Moses says: “Honor your father and your mother, just as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well for you on the land which the LORD your God is giving you.”

While parents are due respect and honor, God also provides some instructions for how to do the job. One instruction that has guided my parenting can be found in Proverbs 22:6. It says: “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

While this verse applies to many areas of parenting, I believe that it also applies to the topic at hand…financial management training.

To adequately train your kids in personal financial management, you must first understand why it’s important. Specifically, why God says it’s important. That is the primary objective of this program.
